Volty I would have thought Coventry Road or Stratford Road, never even thought of Alum Rock.
I'm not surprised at Alum Rock, but I can think of a worse one Ladypool Rd, I would never accept a job that meant we had to drive a lorry down Ladypool Rd because you were talking about an impossibility. It didn't matter how many times the police and traffic wardens had a blitz down there straight after they had been down the road handing out tickets and towing cars they would be back parking on both sides of the road and completely blocking the road in places.
Wall to wall sunshine and I'm stuck indoors working, just stopped for some lunch, been on since 5.30,will be finished tomorrow, and then I have Rottindean terraces stage to do,bet it pees down.
Phil, yes it's always been a nightmare to drive down there,Soho Road is now getting pretty bad also.
An everyday scene down the Lane (Ladypool Rd)
phil try soho road..i was there the other day and it wasnt by choice...it was to do with my family history...
oh i do hope that SB hasnt got imself arrested..he said he was going to have it out with them today as to when he would get his phone back...guess we could always have a whip round for the bail money if he has..

Just had this book brought to my notice; BIRMINGHAM GIRLS by CAROL ARNALL about 2 sisters brought up in Balsall Heath.
John
It should be of double interest to you as it also tells of their lives in Northfield after moving from Balsall Heath. Amazon has copies for £5.75 I think, but Waterstones are asking £35.
I fancy getting a kindle, too much going on at the moment and for a few months but may think about having one for christmas.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left

Morning all,
I am a voracious reader of all sorts apart from fiction.
I bought a kindle and I love it, a complete library in your pocket,at the moment I have 17 books on it, so light compact and convenient.
Easy to read even in the brightest sunlight, you can also change the type size or the orientation of the page.
I have not paid more than 77 p for any book so far, once you 've read them wipe them off,or keep if you so wish.
I have the basic model £89,the other two are £149 and £169,these are touch screen, (which I hate) and have a mini keyboard, (mine is built -in.
Would reccomend to anyone who likes reading ,especially for travelling.
morning all...
just like to say happy anniversary to SB and his long suffering wife jo....14 years today...what a woman...
joking apart...have a nice day both...
