You should take a trip to a landfill site (tip) you will see far more gulls (sh*tehawks) as they are better known than you will ever see at any coastal town.

Problem is us humans have caused a lot of the problems in coastal places by feeding them in the first place, they have lost their natural hunting ways and are pinching food of f us now.
I had an ice cream snatched out of my hand and a lady in our hotel who used a wheelchair had food taken out of her hand and also her hand was injured.

Yes it seems that they are becoming more and more an inland bird. It's far easier for them to scavenge food off the top than it is to hunt at sea for it.

I wonder if Gulls have natural predators, they are rather big birds,

When they land on our balcony wall in Portugal they sure look a lot bigger than you would think.

They obviously can't taste very nice or else we would be eating them.

Maybe no-one's thought of it, they are almost as big as Chickens. The Drumstick would be good.

Just the sort of retirement I would love, though I have had some good offers of part time work the boss won't stand for it.
