We have bus lanes, could we not have Trolley Bus lanes. Though I have to admit they would have to be better enforced.

Just found this site while investigating where Moseley Station was, after seeing Denise's postcard.
This will keep me amused for hours in conjunction with google maps.

Denise

Some sites do not allow access from other websites. Try copying the link into your browser and see if that does the trick.

I usually test my links and I am sure it worked, anyway, it is something to do with Xobors redirect script. If I had posted it correctly and used the URL code then it would have come out like this.

Hope this continues to work.

Hi VM

Your link seems to be working fine now, it's a good site and I have used it many times in an attempt to answer queries on BR over the years. Plenty of photos of local stations as well.

Buses

#67 by Voltman , Sat Jul 24, 2010 6:21 pm

Has anyone ever been to Aston Manor Road Transport Museum.
It is housed in the old Witton tram Depot at 208-216 Witton Lane, Birmingham, B6 6QE.

Looks interesting, as does their website.

VM

No I have not been, nor to the one in Wythall. I even worked next door to the one in Coventry and didn't bother going in for a look.

It's strange that I have been involved with vehicles all my life, but they don't hold the slightest bit of interest for me. Now my Uncle who I worked with bought himself a vintage lorry and rebuilt it. He still plays with it and goes to shows now.

Sorry to say I have never been to the Aston Museum. I have visited the Coventry Transport Museum and that is well worth a look. Not just a collection of vehicles but much more.

Hi Phil, I thank-you for your reply about the picture with the horse and carriage in it and with Holders Ales in the window. I have looked up The Black Horse Pub but am finding it in Jenners Road and can't find it in 76-78 Park Road, Aston. Do I keep searching or have the Street/Road names changed over the years. Regards, Lynn.

Welcome to the forum, I'm glad that you made it. I'm sorry but the first thing I have to do is apologise. I should have said Park Lane, not Park Rd, Park Lane is still there today, but I don't think the pub has been for a long time now.

I've been up and down Park Lane on Google Map and as you said 'all gone' a lot of new development but thanks 'cause I can now put that on my list for when I next visit Birmingham Central Library, and see if they have any fuller pictures. Lynn.

You could always pop over on google to Upper Gough St to have a look at the Craven Arms.

Thanks Phil, Now, that one I do know - it being a Holder pub, but if you have any other Holder Pubs in your head that I can Google let me know.

The list that I have, if I am correct is:-

New Inns, Summer Road, Erdington
Summer Hill Stores
Craven Arms
Crown & Cushion, Lloyd Street
Selly Park Tavern, Pershore Road
Royal Oak, Causeway/Langley Green Road, Oldbury
Earlswood Reservoir Hotel Solihull
The WoodmanInn, Well Street/Bar Street, Hockley
The Old Windmill Dudley Road.

Now I may be wrong about some of these but I'm working on it, so please correct me in anything you think is incorrect.

The main one that I'm very interested in is The Rodney Inn, Coleshill Street as it was attached to Holders Music/Concert Hall and that's another story, so if anyone has any information or photogaphs of anything to do with - HOLDERS MIDLAND BREWERY or HOLDERS MUSIC/CONCERT HALL I would be very pleased to hear from them.

Lynn.
