I used to go to the Gaiety every time they changed the film, as I did to most of the cinemas.

I'm on the school run for the next couple of weeks, taking the grandkids and great grandkids to school in the mornings and picking them up in the afternoons. Its a different world now to when you and I walked backward and forward to school on our own at five years of age.

I only ever walked backward to school a few times, I did most of my walking backward when I started going down the pub, or more precisely on the way home.

What did I tell you about Mike, he is brilliant when it comes to sorting out map details. I'm sorting out a folder of photos of the Holders pubs mentioned by you, but I haven't got the Royal Oak Langley on my collection or the Crown & Cushion West Bromwich. I will post the ones I have on the All Things Birmingham thread later.

I don't doubt that the two pubs you mention were at one time Holders pubs, it's just that my collection of photos and books concentrates mainly on Birmingham. If I were to start adding outlaying districts I'm afraid it would become unmanageable.

To see how to download scans & photos go to the Welcome thread where you will see "A little help with uploading files" just follow the instructions therein, its quite simple really.

You might consider introducing yourself to the rest of the crowd while in the welcome thread, you'll fond them pretty civilised and well behaved. Well most of the time anyway.
