Don't tell me those trams have taken over everywhere. I used to catch this horse tram regularly up Bloomsbury St to the Turks Head Nechells.

A photo of the new service from New Street to the Bear Hotel Bearwood. I always thought that the women rode downstairs because of those hats. The photo must have been posed or they were glued on.

Our wonderful local bus service has been battered again.
National Express in their infinite wisdom have taken Services 41 and 32 off and replaced them with a combined Route no. 42.
Now considering the 41 was incredibly unreliable (ie you were lucky if it came). the new route doesn't cover all of the roads that the two routes it replaces covered., and in the mornings it is used by many school children, and sometimes it doesn't stop for them. Considering this is a half hourly service and the reliability is even worse than the 41 was, this is appalling.
Any visitors reading this with any comments regarding this or any other service please feel free to comment.

Buy a car or better still a pushbike, then you won't have to worry about the buses. All you will have to worry about is me, I try to bag at least one cyclist a week. Its so easy just a little flick of the steering wheel as I pass by.

Observing the standard of driving on our roads is precisely why I don't ride a bike. I live just about within reach of work by cycle, but it's too dangerous. Plus the fact that I don't think I could take the weather any more, I'm too flippin old for that game and certainly too lazy. SB

Did you know that there are Birmingham trams trundling around Lisbon?
We took a good long trip on one and it's one of the few times we've ever been on a tram.

That's interesting, I suppose they have been repainted. If you like Trams, have you been to Crich ?.

When I used to get fed up with signwriting, I used to go and do something else, about 1966-68 I went driving buses from Acocks Green garage, had many a laugh and a few scrapes during that time.
Crich ? No?
Hadn't heard of the place 'til just now.
Looks like it's worth a visit, an excuse for a weekend away me thinks.
Thanks SB.
