What SB doesn't quite grasp is that when us Yardley folk venture into his part of the Wildlands, we are not on a begging mission but merely looking to secure the return of our own misappropriated property.

You lot can talk, you had machine gun turrets in Yardley to stop us poor urchins coming up from Nechells & Saltley to see how the other half lived.

Once again you foreigners have misunderstood the purpose of Stechford nick.

The people of Yardley placed a small country station, with stables, near to the northern perimeter of their lands in order that thieves and vagabonds from the North may be deterred from their nefarious activities before they have penetrated very far into the manor. It was named for the area presenting the greatest threat at the time.
Said station later became more of a fortification due to the increased business it was forced to carry out by our friends in the North.

Whilst there are a number of surrounding stations, in the areas where they are most likely to do a brisk trade, you will note that there is not a Yardley Police Station. Any station that may have carried this title proved to be of little practical need and was diverted to a better purpose.

Sheldon has a station.
Solihull has at least two stations.

Don't be fooled by the propaganda printed on this photo, these guns were used to keep the surrounding natives at bay.

Yes I thought so.

Not the correct way of course, but about as objective as one might expect from an outsider.
I particularly like the reference to the Dark Ages, which is roughly where Sheldon equates chronographically when compared to Medieval Yardley. Only a few hundred years behind.

I had my first office and depot in Garretts Green Industrial Estate, in the Neely Transport depot
It was a tough place to do business unfortunately, we had a lot of break ins.
Still, I lived nearby in Aldershaw Road so it didnt take me long to get to work :-)

We were called Freightcheck. I worked for Uil & Winterswijk at first upstairs, then moved to Freightcheck in Witton and then came back to impex house for a year or so with Freightcheck. I knew Clive Neely very well back in the day, I think he tried to bring Neelys into the modern world as his dad was a bit of an old school transport operator

I was there around 1985 with U&W, and then back there in around 1990/1991 when MacTrans were in the same building and Les from Cross Channel

Hi sheldonboy, stars here. I used to drive for Neely's transport, they moved from Blakeland st, b/green.
mr Bert was in charge, also Don and another older guy were in the garage. My father also worked for them.
We did drive some old trucks then. I lived on the radleys until about 1970.
