The advent of the Railway was a wonderful thing to many of us. But to the canals it was a disaster. The railway company's scuttled the narrow boat's to get rid of the competition and of course canals being blocked pumping stations stopped working, they became stagnant and seen as the ideal place to dump rubbish in. I wish I did, they look like pies should look. Round pies are a con trick, they look big but hold less filling than their square equivalent. I have been surprised by the number of times the Lyons brand keeps cropping up in old photo's. VM

Those little fruit pies I used to have in olden days when I was train spotting on Snow Hill Station. I think i bought them from the Wymans Kiosk.

I didn't know you were a Trainspotter SB. Although why it's such a big hobby I don't know. they're pretty damn big. if you can't spot one on your first attempt you probably never will. VM
