Have you tried Artex, its pretty easy anybody can do it and you can practice a little before hand on a bit of plasterboard. When you get the hang of it you can do all sort's of designs from simple to complicated.

Or use thaty artex type paint,I know it is out of fashion but does a good cover up job.

Years ago me and OH replaced a ceiling we read the DIY books and left the original ceiling in tact and it was hard work but we made a good job of it.

What did you use to cover the joints between the boards when you overboarded it? I'm assuming you overboarded.

I don't know Phil,OH did that and it was in the eighties so I maybe did know but forgot.

It sticks in my mind as I was doubtful we could do it as we are neither of us that handy.

I do remember it being heavy work though LOL.

I also remember the kitchen ceiling falling in on top of me and my cooking one evening,we had had a new bathroom fitted and the bath was leaking and down the ceiling come.

Have a go at the artexing, it can be fun if you are the slightest bit artistic you can buy everything you need fron B&Q or somewhere similar. If you are nor artistic (like me) then I suggest just a artex brush or comb and just do simple swirls. Take a look at this,

Lyn

That's the trouble with artexing once people get the hang of it they tend to go overboard, but for a cheap amateur answer to a damaged ceiling it is ideal.
