Raining.
What a crazy world we live in.

I recently bought some bactericidal hand sanitiser, the stuff that you rub on and allow to evaporate away.
Having bought it from a trade supplier I was obliged to receive a safety data sheet which quite clearly stated that if the product was allowed to come into contact with a persons skin it should be washed off immediately with plenty of water.
My time is money, I can lend you 10 minutes for lunch.

Slightly different, but even more amusing. There is a book called Sax's Dangerous Properties of Indistrial materials. this listed an enormous number of chemicals which might be encountered in the workplace , rates how dangerous they might be if someone came into contact with them and gives a series of codes which say what treatment (if any) should be given to someone who did come into contact. It is very comprehensive , In an earlier edition (this has been altered and is not in recent editions) there was an entry for water which gave a code which meant that if you came into contact with water you should "wash liberally with waterr

Mikejee,
I suppose another entry about washing Hydric Acid off a person using Hydrogen Monoxide is still in the book then, along with a warning not to inhale too much Hydrogen Monoxide in the process perhaps?

Thought Phil might appreciate this picture. Pity it is not true, but a delicious thought

Morning SBand anyone else up and about.
Black as night here with distant rumblings,so I'm indoors painting the bedroom window sill and rest of woodwork.
I was in Wilkinsons yesterday in Worthing and bought a re=fill bag of my favourite coffee,(which I'd never seen before) and it got me thinking
why don't all the companies do this once you've bought your first jar, just top it up with a re-fill pack,Schwartz do it with their spices.
Good morning John
Good idea I don't think the glass compaies would like it though, tough.
Why do items such as coffee need to be in jars anyway, coffee and a load of. Other items would be easier and cheaper to transport in sachets or boxes.
You would just need different point of sale arrangements. SB

Yes I agree SB, the other thing is I've never seen these re-fill packs for Kenco anywhere else.
Morning all,not too much rain here so far,of course when we did get a shower I got caught in it.
When you look at the amount of packageing it is crazy.
I do compost my peeling, flowers etc so that is good but struggle with the rest.
John
I certainly agree in principle, but remember a few months ago seeing refill bags in a supermarket on special offer as an introduction, they were quite good value, but a different weight in the bag than a standard bottle. However , when you looked at what the non-special offer price was and worked out what it would cost for the saem amount in the bottles, then it worked out as more expensive in the bags.
