Don't talk to me about carpets. I hate carpet shopping, we need a new carpet for the hall, stairs and landing. She insists I go with her. Why is that? she won't listen to a word that I might have in contribution. I have no taste, house furnishing is her domain. These are the answers I get in reply when I object. Why am I there. Today is the last chance to get a photo in for the weekly photo competition. by midnight tonight please. I closed it early last week because I forgot that the winner no longer needs to pick a theme for the following week. So I though I would tag the extra day on to the front end of the comp.

So, there I was, lying in the garden watching the black clouds roll by whilst pretending the rain drops were splashes from the swimming pool and enjoying the odd burst of blazing sunshine, when I nodded off for a few moments and awoke thinking I was on holiday in Algarve.
No, not dementure, not this time anyway, more of an optical illusion. The weather was typically changeable Southern Portugal in April and there, circling overhead, were at least half a dozen Swallows or Swifts gobbling up the insects that hang over the swimming pools in the last hour before sunset. Along with the occasional Gull whizzing by on important business the illusion was complete.

The somewhat startling sight of two large jet aircraft disappearing behind the same cloud at the same time, on a certain collision path, kicked me back into the real world.
Obviously they were at different heights because that was the last I saw of them, unlike the Swallows which seem to have taken a liking to the area.

evening all..well this is very strange weather we are having...just had hailstones..thunder and lightning...im holing up for the night now....
