I've sorted an old pair of reading glasses I had before I changed over to varifocal's they are not brilliant but they are getting me out of trouble. The only problem is I can't drive until I get my new glasses on Thursday. I've changed back to two separate pairs now. One close pair and one distance pair, at least I will only be able to break one pair at a time.

Good morning everyone. we have a nice sunny start to the day with rain forecast for later (as it did yesterday). So breakfast first then go out an start painting the topcoat on my bench. Then do a bit of gardening to keep the Boss happy. Then later on put my feet up and watch the Canadian Grand Prix with a couple of glasses of cider. If all goes to plan[Let Me Think] I'll be Gobsmacked.

So much for painting my bench. There are so many parts to it, and with so much rain it's taken ages and three attempts to just undercoat it.. Now I need to gloss paint it. It's looking like a few days more yet.

Sounds like a bit of an old fashioned way to paint a bench SB, Is this garden furniture?
The coloured stains are pretty good and go on really quick, no brush strokes to worry about.

Morning Volty.

This is a very well made traditional bench, and I want it painted to reflect it's quality. I don't like the cheap and nasty treatments.
They don't come in the colour I want or the finish I want anyway. also It's to match the wooden swing bench that's next on the list. As I am building a new frame for the swing bench they wouldn't match because of the different materials and original coatings. SB

What a rubbish morning, when Phil sees this he won't surface until about 4 Oclock. Zane will have to take himself for a walk.
It looks like Astoness has hibernated (nothing new there), and Voltman must have gone back up to his Spaceship. I am Brassed off, I am really brassed off, I am Really Really Brassed off. In fact my Brassed has never been so off. (and that really Brasses me off).

SB, I am still waiting for paint to be delivered, like I said a couple of posts ago I will never use Royal Mail again for any delivery, good job the client is a friend of mine and prepared to wait to have the job done.
I have just e-mailed the supplier and asked them to refund my card.
Can't you rig up a shelter to do your painting in.

No to a shelter John, The Bench is six feet long and I havn't got the space I'll just have to be patient. I have a few days off next week I hope I can do it then. At least I'm getting a bit of a rest.

Good morning all, I see I have awoke to a typical English summers day. Why do those powers that be always claim that we have drought conditions whilst it is raining?

I wonder if I can get paid for spouting off about things that I know very little about or about things other so called geniuses that are being paid a fortune with our money have caused.

Before anyone says that I already spout off about things I know very little about there is just one little difference I don't get paid for it.
