Morning all,
Lovely morning here.
Saw this dodgy bunch whilst I was working this morning, Help for Heroes collecting, one copper said where are the pictures going , I replied CRIMEWATCH.
Don't know if anyone has seen these before, but here's a link to some nice nostalgic photos of various Brum suburbs.

Morning All
Had a nice little trip out this morning down to the aircraft museum at East Birmingham Airport. Expecting bad weather we went early and we were waiting outside for it to open. I have to say we had a pleasant surprize never having been there before we expected the prices to be as advertised £10 for adults, but we were only charged £5.45. I can't understand why they advertise at the higher price. I'm sure knowing that it was much cheaper they would get lots more visitors. As the great grandson is under 2 it only cost us £10.90. That is if you don't count the £20 spent on toy planes.
As I say he is not yet 2 but he has got a mania for planes, so he really enjoyed it and I am sure he will want to go back again. We left just as the rain started to fall. Here are a few snaps out of about 50 that I took. The little hoodie is the great grandson at 22 months hes getting to be a big lad.

This is a vintage Ford gum vending machine from the 1950s. This model was set up to vend gum for 1 penny. The glass globe has a flat top, because originally there was a metal frame positioned on the top of these gumball vendors that displayed the name of whatever local charity the vendor was collecting for. These machines had the capacity to fit 4 lbs. of gumballs. We restored this chrome gum vendor back when we were still in the restoration business.
Dimensions: 12”H x 8”W
Weight: 13 lbs.
Ford Gum and Machine Co.,
We have one in the shop, still got the bubble gum in, (urghhhhh) and the metal panel on top.
John
You can buy cheap plastic imitations now, we bought the grandkids some one Christmas. They make quite good money boxes.

Good pics Phil and love the gum ball machine.
Got a really good view of the Heron today on the dog walk.He was sitting on the wall alongside the pool where the memorial garden is.Could only get a few yards into the gate as Belle was yapping he flew off, managed to get a couple of quick snaps and will post them later.Chuffed to be so close though.
John, thanks for the pic of Lichfield.
I think I know where that is,only round the corner so must check it out.
