Good morning everyone.
R.I.P. John Walker
The founder of 1960s group The Walker Brothers, has died at the age of 67.
His spokeswoman said Mr Walker died on Saturday at his Los Angeles home after a six-month battle with liver cancer.
The band was formed when three unrelated US musicians - Scott Engel, John Maus and Gary Leeds - adopted the Walker Brothers name in 1964.
Although not heard of for many years they are a big name in the history of pop music.

Afternoon all, (it is to me) just come back for some breakfast, then back again, very nice peaceful night in the shop, never even saw a copper.
What can you buy in the shop for coppers? It's all fivers and tenners now.

Mike
True enough, I have spent more time in pubs after time with on duty coppers than were out on the streets. One or two of them were good lads but the rest, had the boot been on the other foot I would have nicked them.

Like they say, when you want a copper, you can never find one.
Well I've put my 11 hours in, going down the pub now to replace all the sweat I've lost.
We had our share of aftertime cops. We had a stag party one night with 200+ of em.

The only thing I couldn't get used to with sharing a pub with on and off duty coppers you always got the sense they were listening to everything. The other thing I didn't like was some of them would clear the pub and then sit back for their own private after time. I think I recounted that we once were kicked out of the Talbot (my local) one afternoon so they could pile in and have a drink.
We sat down the road on our front doorstep about 4 of us deciding what to do next when all of a sudden they all came running out of the pub and into their pandas that were parked behind the pub on the bomb site and sped off in different directions. A couple of moments later they came speeding back with their sirens and lights going and stopped outside the post office that was opposite the pub. Somebody had robbed it while they were in the pub over the road.
