Just a thought, How about that old chimney at the Brirish Engineerium at Hove - I find the history behind that place interesting and fasinating and thankfully it has all now been saved and is being restored, although I haven't been there lately to see the progress.

Lynn, never even gave it a thought, lived here 20 years and never been there,(perhaps I should),in the meantime...
If you look up their Website I see that they had a Steam Day on Oct 10th 2010 with a £2.00 voluntary donation to the Chestnut Tree House Hospice but I don't see a date for this year as yet.
I could sit and take in the atmosphere for ages when that beautiful Beam Engine is in steam and just ticking over so beatifully.

I have just been on their site and had a good nosey around ,fascinating, will definately be paying it a visit once they are open again.
Hey thats a great Chimney, I wonder why they added the extra piece at the top. Surely it couldn't have made that much difference. I love the way it is corbelled out at the top. Now that would have got a 9 or 10 from me John.

Not my photo Phil, I never even gave a thought to this chimney, even though I would have had no time to pay a visit, it was only Lynn reminding me of it.
John I realised that it wasn't your photo, but it doesn't stop me appreciating a good bit of brickwork. I've only demolished one chimney stack in my life life and that was about half the size of that one but it was about 10 ft square. It was up Wheeleys Road Lee Bank. We scaffolded it and dropped it brick by brick. I tell you now they are built to last, no wonder they use explosives.
