The last time I was at Blenheim Palace was about ten years back and I have to say how disappointed I was. I was surprised how little of the Palace was open for the tour. In fact I don't think we got off the ground floor of the one wing. It's not a place I would ever make a return visit to unless there was a special exhibition that I wanted to see.
I had a bit of a surprise earlier. The frame for one of my bird houses has been collapsing. I just thought the wood was rotting and planned to rebuild it. Until I saw wood dust falling from a hole, then I realised the damn thing was almost hollow and inhabited by bees.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

You'll have to watch that bees can get pretty shirty if you disturb them. I'm not sure if they still do it but the Council used to send someone out to collect bee swarms and nests.
oh my giddy aunt SB..i would be panic stricken....dont quote me i dont think the council come round to clear out bees anymore or if they do they will charge you...

Well if the Council don't come out any longer, try a fisherman. We had one that came out to our jobs every time we came across a nest and did it for free he used the nest as bait.

The thing is SB, if there is a queen in there nesting then they will swarm, it's then that you will want to keep out of the way.

I think it depends on which sort of bumble bee . I have had a little nest under the concrete slab in front of my front door for (i think its ) 4 years, and they return every year. It must be because I am so sweet.
