Glad you had a good day, I have still got faint memories from being a child in Scotland of working traction engines being used. Also the odd steam engine road roller here in Birmingham.

Thanks phil I have loads of pictures from yesterday, I need to resize them first then I'll out them in a gallery.
As a man who appreciates trucks you may have been interested in a towing demonstration. There was a train made up of around twenty trucks pulled by a Scammell, it took two to get it moving the the leader pulled the others (Scammells, Leylands etc) altogether between 200 and 250 tons. incredible.
There was also many working traction engines, lorries cars etc. Never been through the village of Bloxham before its beautiful.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Its a common fallacy that people who make a living from trucks find them interesting. I thought they were dirty smelly unreliable things, now my uncle was exactly the opposite he loved them and he still has a 1950's Austin K2 lorry that he takes to shows. It is something like the one in the photo except it has side boards, he bought it as old wreck and spent a fortune and all his spare time renovating it. Luckily an old mate of ours keeps it garaged for him now we don't have premises. It's not the sort of thing you can keep parked on your drive.

I can clearly see the plume of smoke rising from West of Yardley, it's coming this way and is almost overhead.
It won't be long before it reaches the flight path for the airport.

Now it's serious. The sun is obscured. I may as well go and do some work.

It's still bright and sunny here as I can see no sign of smoke to the north. Mind you there are a few rain clouds about.

Yes Good Morning a little grey today and according to the forecast rain is expected, typical as it's one of the great grandchildren's sports day today.
