I used to get in my car and drive around, sometimes over a 100 miles and come back and get back into bed and no-one was any the wiser.

A late good morning to you all, have been up since 4.30, but had some things to do.
Nice and sunny again, a slight breeze, have to go and look at a job in a pub called the LION and LOBSTER it's owned by Gary Whelan who played the school teacher in Ballykissangel.

Yes, Lion & Lobster is an unusual name for a pub, one I have never heard of. Some friends of mine purchased the tenancy of The White Horse in Lower Essex St in the 80's. They renamed it The Bridge & Lion another unusual name, but their names were Bridget & Lionel which explains it. I believe it is a Gay Bar now, I know that they sold up and moved on after a very short time, as they couldn't make it pay.

I wonder if there is some unknown meaning in the name of The Lion & Lobster?
