I have just noticed that Dowding and Mills Deritend\Camp Hill are now called Sulzer Dowding and Mills.

Morning all........Sir Norman was such a laugh................and I loved the way the Albanians mobbed him.They don't make em like him anymore.God bless him.

Yesterday, Hastings council put a compulsary purchase order on their pier with a view of opening a competition for a new design ,
guess what IT BURNED DOWN LAST NIGHT.

Went to my singing group last night and my throat really hurts this morning.......I can't do high notes..really strains my voice.......hope I am not turning into man

I have to be honest and say I was never a great fan of Norman Wisdom, but I will admit that he was a good all round entertainer and he certainly worked to earn his money.

He was a bit too like an English Jerry Lewis for my liking, but saying that I saw him do a turn at La Dolce Vita in the early 70's and he was on stage for over an hour and didn't stop once. He did one of the most physically energetic acts I have ever seen performed live.

At least you could let the kids watch a Norman Wisdom film without having to worry about the content. No one got killed or raped and it was always a happy ending.

I'll give you that, but the humour was excruciatingly painful to watch. Though once again I will admit of a type that most children found funny.

On the subjectof films where everyone gets hurt, I am currently avoiding all such films and TV stuff.
There are plenty of nice movies where guns and violence and mass murder aren't the main themes, so I have decided to watch only those films for the foreseeable future.
Pedro Almodvar films are also worth a watch.

It does seem to be getting into a habit that whenever the owner of a building doesn't get what he wants , then it burns down. Wonder if, when Cameron gets kicked out, the houses of parliament will go up in flames

Just got back from Hastings, here's a few snaps from the wettest day of the year so far.
Two teenagers from St. Leonards have been arrested after being seen running away from the pier.

A couple more of the tv vans etc.

Signman, you should send your photo's to AP or Reuters.

I notice the banner on the side of the pier says "You can save me", let's hope so.
