It's alright saying that staff nurse Sharon Gibbs was "out of her depth" and should have sought help from seniors. But what about her seniors leaving someone like her in charge of patients. It's the same old story it has to be the fault of some minor employee, because it cant be the fault of anybody on a huge overblown salary.

This is an awful story, someone should be sacked or even prosecuted for this one.

What did the police do for him?
He rang them from his bed and said he was being refused water, someone in that hospital must have actively prevented any remedial action from being taken. In my book that is even worse than being Incompetent.

Unfortunately from what I heard on the radio today this is far from being a rare case. The Elderly and disabled are sometimes left all day without a drink. The jugs of water are usualy left on a table at the foot of the bed and of course they can't get at them.
This lad had a rare type of Diabetes which accelerated his Dehydration, the problem was he was denied his medication and water.
He dialled 999 for the Police and the ward staff turned them away.
