Thanks mikejee,

You can imagine the surprise of waking up bleary eyed, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, and seeing that.

love the picture, i ment the ocean village was a part of carnival, and went to P&O OZ, yes they are all part of Carnival overall. Im a big fan of princess I admit, the cruise market in OZ is just taking off, maybe 5 years ago Melbourne has maybe 6 to 10 ship visits per year, at a guess that would be triple now. also we never had any home ported ships, now we have Pacific Pearl (previously known as Simitar Fairmajesty, Star Princess, MV Arcadia then Ocean village), The Pacific Jewell (previously Crown Princess, A'rosa Blu, AIDAblu then ocean village 2. The Pacific Dawn (previously the Regal princess) Dawn is by far the best. We also have the Carnival spirit.
All these ships have been refurbished to cater for australian passengers. Funny it only takes 1.5 days to get from Brisbane to Port Vila but they say there is no beer left by the time they reach the first port and they have to restock completely,
we do have summer based ships that run around new zealand - three princesses, couple of holland america and royal Caribbean, we usually get Q Victoria and either Q Mary or Q Elizabeth. oops forgot celebrity X I am dying to get on Celebrity Solstice this season and hopefully Queen Victoria, other than that I will have to wait till next march till I go on a south pacific cruise. Volty I envy you Ive always wanted to do a Transatlantic cruise, but I will never get my wife on it, she doesnt like cruising much, well she does but she gets seasick, which is not good when we own a cruise event business. LOL

What is it with craft, be it air or on sea, with the name Concord (ia) in the name. I wonder how many other air craft and ocean going accidents have occurred with craft of the same name.

I don't think they wil ever find the missing person! Whilst the loss of 32 souls is not to be disrespected, as one passenger said, it could have been all 400

i think it worth noting that more people die in road, train and airline accidents than cruise ships, there overall accident record is pretty good, anyway in this case they had an italian driver, they are more used to going backwards that forwards , thats why their tanks have one forward gear and 4 reverse gears

I think they are probably just pointing the turret the wrong way.

Yes but cars can go forwards, backwards, left or right.
Ships can go forwards, left, right and down.

And backwards, and sideways, and rotate, and all done slower.
It is very difficult to sink a ship. History shows that it takes a special sort of moron.

i love your thinking, if you take out weather and fire then it's only humans that could sink a ship, by acts of folly, deliberate or stupid action
