It may have been food when it went off in the trucks but I wouldn't call it food when it is served at their shops.
When did they stop being Called Kentucky Fried Chicken?
I have my own version of that name.

I don't think KFC is too bad, certainly not when you compare it to any burger place (and I include all the ones that charge up to £20 for a burger). Mind you I do remember the story . which must have been from around 1980 about the Erdington one. Instead of ordering the correct amount for a few days, the manager (or probably franchisee) grossly overordered, and then to use it over the next month or so. There was a health inspection and the inspector found piles of green chicken in the fridges. I think I had eaten there on occasion, though some time before. Mind you even that chicken probably would have been better than a big mac

That explains the secret recipe coating, it's to hide the colour of the chicken.
I tried it once in the eighties, in Thame while I was working away, I got a stinking bucket of gristle. fat, bone and breadcrumbs. Never again.
I was dragged into a Macripoff earlier in the same decade, Newcastle I think. I wasn't much impressed with the rubber bread, plastic burger, plastic cheese and strange mustard. Never again.
They both served chips with nothing inside them.
Talking of fast "food"
Chip shops are mostly crap round here and chinese takeaways everywhere serve everything coated in fatty batter, so they are all off the list for evermore.
Pizzas are just soggy overpriced rubbish, cheese on toast is better.
