Volty

They can be up to a 17 inch screen size, I chose this size as the most convenient. The sizes available are below, but there are other sizes if you pay for the professional package.

Phil

320x240
640x480
800x600

2048x1536

So your originals are perfectly normal then, Phil.
It's when (if) we access them at Photobucket that the size is set to your choice.
Photobucket no doubt has it's uses, not really as good as our current arrangement though, I like the option to open a shot up to full size and do a bit of zooming in.

I prefer the old method also. Only use Photobucket a site where you can only post pics that way, and one where you are supposed to be able to attach, but it usually doesn't work. On problem with photobucket used to be that they limited the Mb size of the total pics you had on it unless you paid, and this meant that people got too their limit and began deleting and you sometimes ended up with no picture after a while. But I gather they don't have a limit now.

Mike

I have just uploaded a little short of 20,000 images to photobucket so there is obviously no limit now. It took me all weekend, but I wanted another string to my bow in case I needed it.

So as we progress a little further along the High St we come to Carrs Lane that runs down to Moor St.

If it wasn't for Powells I would never have believed the 1953 shot.

The last time We visited this thread we were strolling down the High Street in the direction of New Street. Continuing our journey the next street past Carrs Lane on our left would be Union Street.

The next street on our left as we journey along the High Street is (was) a little old narrow lane that led down to Moor St. We can see the opening on the High St now gone by Hiltons store, It was Castle Street.

The next road (passage) we meet on our left along the High street was Scotland Passage that at one time was sandwiched by the Co-op High Street Department store. On the first photo we can see the covered entrance on the High St. the second photo shows the entrance itself and the last one shows where it came out on Moor St.

Thanks for this thread Phil, there is a lot of time and effort gone into it. I followed most of it last week.
