RE: Products we remember SWEETIES

As regards the price of some of the old fashioned sweeties. I have a reccomendation, In the outdoor part of the Bull ring market. Around the Centre of the market is a very long stall. It's run by a lady called Peggy. At one end she has bread and cakes, at the other end she has a great affordable range of sweets. Some of the old fashioned sort such as Rhubarb and Custard and many others at a fraction of some of the shop prices. Well worth a look, well worth a try. SB

Hi Colin I remember Bazooka Joe bubble gum that pink stuff. If we tried it now we would probably only try it once. It was probably the downfall of a good few peoples teeth. I 'll tell you what I've just remembered, Blackjacks and 1/2d Chix, blimey I ate them by the bagfull. SB

My favourite was the biggest teeth rotter in the world coconut icing, used to buy tons of it from Eaves on Great Lister street, and troach.
Funnily enough I've still got most of my teeth at nearly 70.

The only man who came round to our house with a suitcase was the tallyman.
