Regarding products we remember. In the Great Western Arcade (The one in Colmore Row opposite Snow Hill railway Station), there is a sweet shop that specialises in the old time sweets. Its amazing to see how many are still available that we thought had disapeared in the mists of time. They are of course not at the old prices but still quite reasonable considering todays market and business costs.
Do not take life too seriously - you are not going to get out of it alive anyway.

You can't be talking about Maynard's can you, they are surely not still there after all these years. I used to try not to go through that Arcade as there were two shops my wife always headed for one was Rhodes the China Shop. That was a minimum spend of £30 to £50. In the 70's I'm talking.
The others was a ladies dress shop, and we were talking unlimited in there. I used to have to drag her out of there screaming. She always quietened down after a coffee in Greys and another purchase or two the ladies department.

There's lots of these old time sweet shops opening up lately. There's one in Bromsgrove, one by Canterbury cathedral, and we have 3 in Brighton, all quite exspensive if you try and buy in the old weights.
