Good for you, morning Frothy, I see so many old pub tables painted,we have restored quite a few for our pub, the most you should do is keep it clean and if the top is in good condition wax or polish it,sometimes they need stripping and re-staining,but that's all and never paint cast iron.
mike my table is being dropped off at lunch time so i will have to get dressed now..
im going to keep it in the kitchen as the top although covered is very damp so i want it to dry out completly before i wax and polish it then i will do some research on the iron foundry who made it...it does have name on but ive forgotton is now..sure its birmingham made..
