Steph, yes Lichfield.A lovely place but the lights are naff.
I am a Brummie and a moseleyite and that is me but Lichfield suits us very well really.
evening all,
sb - i get it about the buz.
den, shame about the lights in lichfield would have looked so nice, its a lovely city. the little street that runs up to the cathedral, the little houses are so old they look as if they are about to fall down, its amazing how they still stand. this day and age they would all the complaining about tree roots, nice that lichfield have kept the little old houses, not just the more famous ones.
not done a lot this evening, trying to knit matinee jackets for the new arrival, finished the back of one delicate jacket and started on the front (cable needles in use) then after doing half of it i realised (was not reading the pattern properly) had not included the band, so have to undo it. will have another go tomorrow,
night all

hi phil
yes, that was it galloways corner and christchurch passage. i remember albert street now iv been thinking that was carrs lane but that runs at the back of marks and spencers, is that right.
does anyone remember the casino that used to be by marks and spencers and the pub opposite which i think was called the hole in the wall, there might even be a new pub there now by the same name, the other one was a real old place. I m going back to the 60s.

Hi Steph the hole in the wall in Dale end was opened around 1966-7 It was fitted out like an Italian wine bar and very smart. in recent years it Changed to Saramoons, after several police raids for drugs, weapons etc, and being a hidey hole for the Gang culture it was closed after Police pressure. morning astoness,
still have not worked out how to use the hammers - use my fingers on the keyboard to get him worked up.
what you got planned for today. i m going to take myself out for a walk, should stay in and do some more clearing up. my mom passed away five years ago and my step dad followed two years later (he went threeyears this coming april). they lived in a three bedroom cottage in earlswood and it was like narnia when i cleared the property. at the back of the wardrobe (floor to ceiling) in their bedroom it opened out into almost another room, which in fact was the space over the stairs. well it was piled high with blankets, curtains and all sorts. then there were other cupboards. obviously van loads went to charity shops but i brought home such a lot, all her named pottery and bits and pieces. she also did a lot of crochet things so we hve them as well. now i have the grand children i would like my bedroom back for the boys so am trying to clear things away, its taking me ages.

I didn't know there was another Hole in the wall before the sixties one, I was too young to know pubs then,
