Yes it looks like burning rubber, if its Aston Church Rd it's probably Taroni's.

Phil

It is Taroni's.
It's gonna stink at work today. I work not far from there[Frowning]

He won't be able to call it The White House for a while then, least not until he gets the paint pot out.

hi folks..went to see our dad at the nursing home in nechells this morning and got quite worried as the 66 bus approached nechells park road as the seat of the fire looked to be close to the home..it was directly behind it but of no risk to the the residents or the home..took as look as you do and got some pics and video footage...i could see the smoke from here in kingstanding..looks like a load of tyres went up...

treasure trove.

#5074 by signman ( deleted ) , Wed Aug 10, 2011 2:58 pm

Just bought a box of tat for £10 odds and sods, but look what was in the bottom covered in newspaper.
Can't find anything about this association,Mike need your help.
All I've found out are the date 1855, the maker Vaughton Livery Street and sterling siver.
Don't know anything about the badges, they are not marked in any way.
I'm chuffed to bits with this find, wonder how they found their way down here.

John
Some from the forum will have seen my reply elsewhere, but I repeat it here for those who haven't:
Definitely no information about it, but I suspect it may be one of the Master Painters Associations that merged to form the National Association of Master Painters of England & Wales, later to become the British Decorators Association . These are mentioned in http://www.paintingdecoratingassocia...ory%20Book.pdf , though they say the first was probably the West riding association , formed in 1865, You seem to have evidence that Birmingham was previous to that.
