Have a look at these GIFs Signman. They both show up with a white backgound in Windows explorer yet Betty Boop turns black in thumbnail view and Tigger, who has a white background, won't open into a new tab.

Phil, I'm not really sure what you could say was wrong, but it might be worth bringing to their attention the fact that there is some inconsistency where transparent backround gifs and jpgs are concerned. I do know that a saved thumbnail picture can't be re-used as an openable image and it would appear that the thumbnail facility won't display with a transparent background. VM
