You have my sympathy Denise. My mother is just the same, worse if anything. It wasn't made any better by her cataract operation, where the surgeon made a cockup, meaning she had to stay in two nights then go home and come back to stay another night a month later. That really put her off them, and she wouldn't even consider a similar operation on her other eye. So now she can only see (not too well) out of the eye that had the operation.

Thanks Phil, just frightened of a stangulated hernia. He has been told to lose weight but he is not great at that sort of thing.I have told him that if it is a stangulated hernia he could be into a life threatening situation. He insists it is not that.

Got me Mum coming today,I am not going to put her off cus if anyone can talk sense into him she will.

Maybe me just panicing but he is normally so robust........oh well catch you later.

morning all

yes, i did see the post about the american relies, great. i am still trying to sort out the 20th century history with some of my lot.

yes, we can all be dificult not just men when we get older - but in saying that is it just a case of we dont trust the doctors any more. they prescribe pills for one thing which then has a side affect so they give you another pill for that and hey presto before you know it your kidneys are affected. problems with your stomach can lead to achs and pains in joints etc. i know what you mean about men not wanting to exercise and lose weight, my o/h needs to lose weight (he is diabetic and has had a triple by pass) but he will not come out for a short stroll, he has a stridor machine but when i tell him that is not the same movement as actually walking, he says he would rather stick pins in his eyes than go for a walk. his legs are now holding water and he has blisters. i just have to switch off sometimes.

weather not too bad here but have not ventured out yet. takes me some time to get going in the mornings.

have a good day all

steph

Good evening everyone.
I have been busy today trying to catch up with emails and paperwork on my old computer which did'nt want to know about emails and paperwork today. i was using that one because it's always set up alongside the printer. I think I am going to thrash it John Cleese style.

I like your picture of Fradley Junction Froth, been through it many times on a Narrow boat going from Tamworth to the Severn at Stourport.

Or she could look in the mirror. I'm out of here before she gets me.
