I'm sure once into Solihull would be more relaxing for you than three times in Brum. Mind you I prefer most things three times than once.
Phil
Phil I just don't like Solihull

I can't say I'm all that keen either, but perhaps that is just because I don't like my personal space being invaded and don't like being jostled and pushed.
As I have not yet been to Birmingham (the Bull Ring) since its last reincarnation I can't pass comment, but going on memories it has got to be less crowded than Solihull.
Phil
Phil if you do decide to venture into the unknown, I strongly suggest that you vist the new Bull Ring at 10 Oclock in the morning when it opens, once you get past lunch time it really fills up and week ends/bank holidays its not the place for you. It's a victim of it's own success. several coaches a week visit the the Bully, when it's busy it's very busy. Even we go elswhere then. If ever you change your mind I repeat my offer of giving you a guided tour. SB

If I ever do decide to have a ramble around town, it will be the pubs I will need a guide for, because I think most of my old haunts are gone now. I think I might give the Bull Ring a miss as there is nothing there for me now.
Phil
There are three pubs quite close to each other which are quite good, then there is the new Royal Mail, recently re-opened up the top end of New Street. Just let me know if and when you are ready.

My Son came a few weeks ago with one of those Apple TV boxes that you can stream films and videos from the internet. Its all fitted up in the living room and its never been used. He spent about an hour explaining how everything worked and left us to get on with it.
I hope he doesn't ask us what we think of it, as you know I never watch television (well hardly) and the wife has enough trouble switching a television on. She has only just about mastered the remote control.
Phil
if I didn't have my Lap Top most nights I would either die of boredom with the Garbage on the box or I would have to train myself to sleep for 10 hours a night.

If I watch television at all, it will be whatever is on something like UK Gold or Dave I cant watch modern TV programmes at all they just irritate me because there is nothing good about them.
If occasionally they come across a new format for a programme they ruin it by making too many spin offs, take the American programme CSI it was good when it came out about 10 years back. Now you have half a dozen programmes along the same line, even an English one I understand.
Phil
If there is one type of TV programme getting right up my trumpet these days are the cookery programmes. What a load of over stretched Tripe. i am sick to death of them. Followed closely by Embarassing bodies and escape to the country.

At least I have the luxury of not even knowing what those programmes are about.

I used to like solihull but don't miss it.
Busy day,had a great lunch at the wine house as a treat..........food very good.
The Irish coffee was a bit short on the Irish ,could not even smell it so we complained and had a free measure.
