Quote: astoness wrote in post #30827evening all...we had a heavy ground frost this morning...always get it bad as im on high ground...fed up now of these fireworks going off...well actually they are not fireworks in the sense as we know them...they are more like bombs going off...
These loud fireworks must be awful for you Lyn, must bring back memories of the war.

Does the owner know
That reminds me of something that happened to a friend of mine in Chichester. it would be back in the 1960s. He occasionally had to accompany people who were seizing possessions (can't remember if it was the tax or the excise office he worked for as a dogsbody). They used outside firms to transport the items. He went off one day with a bloke in a lorry, told him where to go and then pointed out the house. the driver drove straight past. My friend said "Stop, you went past it". Only to receive the reply " I'm not bloody going there, that's my house "
