Our bins have big wheels, they actually handle most steps quite well.
The email of the species is more deadly than the mail.

I just went onto the Birmingham City Joke Council website to get the email address of Yardley's new Councillor and found that it hasn't been updated since the election.
Just how long does it take to type a list of name and addresses, especially when most of them seem to be hiding behind the Council House address.
They can't even manage to put the wards in alphabetical order.
I thought a condition of being up for election was the publishing of the candidates home address.

But if you get his address you might want to give him something to do

I might want to give him something, not necessarily a task.

The street sweeping lorry came along our road yesterday, it was following the circus that the council call a recycling collection.
I call it a circus because of the entertainment these clown provide. They managed to tip more of the paper on the road than they got into the truck.
They picked most of it up and even though they were here for about twenty minutes they still couldn't mange to return the bins.
Today the sweeping lorry has turned up to sweep a clean street.
This is almost as good as the litter picker who came past last week. He was so early it was still dark.
On the plus side we don't have any glow in the dark litter in our hedges anymore.

There ought to be a training course for these muppets, but I guess that the bin men have probably been on a course that says empty an impossible no of bins in a very short timescale and to do this they cannot do the job properly.
The next thing you know we will be invited to join a council training course which will teach you how to round up you errant wheelie bin when it has gone walk about. Why can't they just bring the thing back it is not too much to ask surely?

Now I've calmed down I can mention the very costly exhibit that BCC put on at the Chelsea Flower Show last week.
How wonderful it was to see the creativity and expense they piled into their unneccesary display of what was pretty much described as flowers even though there was a load of welded steel and microscopic sculptures involved.
I know they do it every year and I know it is just a jolly for all involved, but this year some uneducated dickhead spokesboy said he was going to put "Birmingham on the map".
If he had been within reach at that moment I would have put him on the endangered list.
Birmingham is already on the map, we are on lots of maps. We built a good part of the known world, we invented and made the tools and machinery that put most other places on the map. We may even have invented maps.
How this useless gobshite gets to claim any personal part of Birmingham's achievements, on national television, is a mysterious disgrace.
I can't wait to see what next years flowery extravaganza is supposed to do for us.

I didn't see the BCC exhibit on TV as I usually turn it off/over when that comes on as its largely a group of affected arty types saying how wonderful they each are. But did google it after seeing this thread , and must admit it looked pretty crap. Only thing that can be said was that it did have some flowers in it, unlike the Bank of Canada exhibit, which I unfortunately did not miss on TV, which resembled a derelict bomb site with weeds, and one or two flowers
