Anyone remember the sixpence saturday morning rush at the villa cross handsworth,with flash gorden swiss family robinson,and cartoons, it was a good morning out.

jo the villa cross was my local pic house..went every saturday morning...do you want to see some pics of it as ive got one or two ???

We used to go to the Newtown Palace, or the Flea pit, for the Saturday matinee. Mom gave us 9d each, 6d to go in and 3d for either sweets which we bought on the way or an ice cream when we were in there.

lynne next to the villa cross there was a little shop....actually its still there as its listed...we used to go in there and buy a little glass of tizer....happy days..

As you come out the cinema is it the little shop on the left,we use to walk up villa road to the polar bear ice cream parlour,if we did'nt spend our money inside.

Anyone remember buying stink bombs when growing up and letting them off on places like the bus or school classroom great memories of innocent fun on the run.
