Hot day

#1 by Sheldonboy , Mon Jul 23, 2018 8:53 pm

The met office today suggests that people keep out of the sun due to the heat and obvious reasons. Good advice for some people. All around where I live I have heard kids playing in the gardens all day. Maybe kids are immune these days.

If the sun is so bad for us why are we not extinct?

The Sun is very good for us, there is no life without it, it just depends what your preference is slow roast or spit roast.

I smell a rat in the latest hottest day claims.

Heathrow airport claim 35c.
Isn't that the place with dozens of jet engines running day and night, not to mention the engines running full throttle down two runways every two minutes.

Don't really think "The Sun" is good for us, full of football and similar rubbish. The sun is good for us however, in reasonable doses

According to a TV programme on Heathrow, they shift a plane every 45 seconds

Exactly. That's just push backs to feed two runways.
Then there is taxying and queuing for the outbound and taxying and parking for the inbound.

All jet aircraft are either two or four engines, with one in the tail for the generator which runs continuously.
Departures are full throttle and some aircraft go to full throttle for reverse thrust on landing.

It's hardly surprising that the people standing nearest the fire are feeling the warmest.

Good point. I don't read any newspapers, but if I did The Sun would be bottom of my list.
