Higher Fines For Littering

#1 by Voltman , Sun Apr 01, 2018 9:17 am

This must be the governments idea of an April fools joke.

"Increased fines for 'litter louts' come into effect"

Who is going to enforce the fines on pedestrians? Photographing cars and sending fines in the post is one thing, stopping people on the street can only be done by the police, who are practicaly non existent around here.

Tony Blair introduced thousands of new laws whilst decimating the police force, things are worse now than ever before.

And isn't it about time the bin men were brought to account? Our street looks like a tip after their visit.

A local notice informs people that the maximum fine for those allowing their dogs to deposit matter onto the pavement is £1000. There still seems to be little mounds appearing, and never heard of anyone fined £1000

For one thing these fines are nowhere near high enough. For another thing most people look around to see if anyone is watching them. For another thing too many people just don't give a toss.
