Yesterday 400,000 to 500,000 marchers converged on London from up t’north to protest against cuts by this Conservative government. Teachers, nurses, midwives, NHS, council and other public sector workers were joined by students and pensioners to bring the centre of the capital to a standstill.
The largely peaceful protest was marred by a few scuffles in Oxford St, but these sort of scuffles have often very little to do be the aims of the protest. In my opinion this will do little to change the mind of the incumbent government and I think it will need a lot more than a few scuffles to change the mind of David Cameron as it did with the last power freak Tory prime minister that this country had. No not Tony Blair the other one.

Phil if 500,000 people jumped all over our Government they wouldn't take any notice. Unless they pinched their expenses.

I think the local elections in England and the Scottish General Elections in May could show us the way things are going to go. Perhaps if the Lib Dems get a bloody nose we might see a bit of change in the house.

Bloody Nose, Phil. A few broken bones may do more good.
I still say this lot are not going to make full term without a lot of trouble.

I have to be honest, I would have put money on them not lasting six months. I suppose its all down to how long Nick Clegg wants to cling on to his little bit of power.

Phil I would imagine Cleggy is desperate to hang on. If he loses his grip on the second top job there can be no way he will keep the Lib Leadership. The stab in the back muppet squad would be queing up for it. SB

I think Clegg is pretty resigned to loosing that job already, but rumours are rife that he has done a deal with his old schoolmate for a safe seat in the Tory party.

I don't think somehow you are a Rap fan, but i think you might have some liking (even if you can't understand all that he is saying) for this one at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dl1jPqqTd..._embedded#at=24 . "Andrew Lansley- Tosser" has a nice ring to it.

Mike you are right about one thing, I could only catch "Andrew Lansley" and "Tosser" but the lad whoever he is has got the right idea only I would use a stronger word.
