I didn't think Hornby made anything these days. That it was all made by some Chinese slave camp and then just has the Hornby name put on it

Certainly all the locos and rolling stock are made in China, as is Bachmann stuff.

At least these products are being made and marketed. Without them, many people including me wouldn't be able to afford it. Hornby and Bachman both run very well and for the price represent very good value.
The rivet counters will always go for the top quality or even build their own but the great majority of people wouldn't have the time, skill or the money to do this. Over many years Hornby have kept the hobby open and alive, without Hornby I for one wouldn't be in the position to start something I have waited fifty years to do.
