Evening all ,what a morning ,been feeling a bit rough all week ,phoned doc's for appointment ,new idea see a triage nurse first ,saw her after a 10 minute wait, done all the usual tests said I cannot prescribe anything ,i'll get you in to see a doctor ,at 11 o clock waited in waiting room from 10 35 untill 11 15 ,asked receptionist if I had been forgot about ,she checked said do'c will see you in a few minutes,10 minutes later called in ,done exactly the same as the nurse got anti biotics an steroids what a waste of time and NHS money stuck in there for over one hour for a 5 minute consultation.

I can see the point of when you booked the appointment being asked what sort of problem it was so that you could be directed to the right person, or possibly a nurse, but th eprocedure you describe is criminally wasteful of your and their time

Thats what I thought mikegee ,but apparantly its a new procedure ,to sort out those who don't really need to see a doctor .but as you say a complete waste of time and money
