What greater way for these people to get their hands on kids that to get into coaching. Especially something like Gymnastics.

How the hell does it get stopped. Someone we know grew up in a massive church orphanage and the abuse in there was wicked, sexual and violent.

What scares me is the scale of it. Most of us grow up learning to protect children

And that was just the nuns, who for the record, I have found to be two faced, sneaky, self serving and downright nasty.
I know what they need but they don't stand a chance.

Not just the Nuns, SOME Priests were lethal. there were of course good and bad Nuns and Priests, but As I understand it the bad were very bad and they new nobody would speak up.

I don't believe that other people don't know whats going on. Relatives etc must have an idea. I think a lot of people must be doing a lot of covering up.

Agreed. What really gets me is that some pratt from the FA was saying on TV that they would do all they could to compensate and investigtae, but the money it would cost would mean less for helping young people etc etc. It should come out of the bloated salaries and expenses of the FA , the clubs and the players. and the police and court costs also

not always SB..far too close to home and nothing to do with the football enviroment but i only found out 2 years ago about something that happened nearly 50 years ago..thank god the abuser was not family..the abused was 8/9 years of age and never spoke of it to anyone as in this case and through the eyes of a child especially 50 years back thought it was the norm....in a way a good thing as knowing my family as i do i am quite certain that someone would have swung for him.. i have checked the records and the rat has long since gone...nothing more to be said or done

I agree that in most cases the abuser keeps things very quiet. But in some cases I am sure a wife/sister /Mother knows.
