Will Contactless Cards Make Us Less Healthy?

#1 by Sheldonboy , Mon May 23, 2016 7:52 pm

What a load of crap. The one thing that makes anyone fat or unhealthy is absorbing more calories than we use up.
To quote Jasper Carrot " the hole in the front of your face is bigger than the hole at the back.

Jasper has very peculiar physiogamy if his exit hole is in the back of his head.
But agree with the sentiment

The article is about people buying more fast food because they don't consider credit card purchases to be as expensive as when paying cash. Some people who buy pies and cakes, etc, would normally pay in cash because it is a small value transaction. Contactless payments are only for such transactions.
It is nothing to do with the effort involved, that is the same either way.

The article should have been titled
Will Contactless cards make us less wealthy?

Almost all plastic cards make people less wealthy. Except for the people who own the card companies.

If you don't have credit cards you are more likely to go out shopping.
I never go out shopping, I buy everything sitting at my desk.
Except fresh food items.

Going out shopping has never bothered me. I only buy what I want or need. There is no way I would have any kind of credit card in my retirement years. I am adequately provided for and can control my spends. No bank or other such Highwayman is getting any interest out of me. As for Internet shopping I do very little I much prefer going out and talking to real people, for however short a time.

Haven't met many of them, and a large proportion of them follow these stupid women's magazines to extremes, and as a result are grossly over made-up with layers of "foundation" (when you are building, foundations are made of concrete, and many over-rich women follow those guidelines), with thick layers of fluorescent wax round their mouths, and ridiculous high heeled footware which supposedly makes their legs "shapely", but actually just produces bulging muscles and bad feet .
