When would the pony & trap event have occurred tca? It might have appeared in the newspapers, which are online for Birmingham up to 1900

well granny was born 18 dec 1887 at Marquis of Lorne, Newtown Row, so I guess she would have been in her twenties, so that would be early 1900s - family stories say she always carried a gun, the best story I heard was they buried a whole heap of gold sovereigns, but failed to mark the spot correctly and couldn't find them again. LOl I don' t know, her father was born in Macclesfield and mother in Birmingham 1860, i got stuck there, her marriage certificate says they lived at 23 Mansfield Rd, Aston 1908 husband was a butcher

I remember kneeling in front of the black lead range toasting bread on a wire fork that extended, and mom putting dripping on them if anyone got more brown jelly than another it was like world war 3 happy days though.

Used to love the old Dripping, must have a little salt of course.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I often have to do a bit of scraping, I only throw toast away if it on fire.

Volty doesn't do that often, his 1932 toaster is still working perfectly.

Dualit
Reassuringly expensive, easily repaired.
It doesn't burn the toast, I do.
