The sooner they (fireworks) are banned, the better. Poor animals scared witless, birds flying in all directions when they should be resting, I hate this time of year.
Trick or treating should also be banned, it's begging with menaces. Not even an English tradition is it?

Fireworks are OK but should be only be allowed to be used at licenced events and only on special pre decided nights. Be it New Year or November 5th. Fines for unauthorised use should be high.

It's Just gone 8 o clock and we haven't had one knock at the door yet. I think we only had two last year. Perhaps it's dying off, as much as the manufacturers of such rubbish would have liked I don't think it has ever really taken off here.

totally agree with you phil...ive spoken about this before but gone are the days when bonfire night was on the 5th and we would spend weeks collecting for our bonfires..penny for the guy and only our parents would buy the fireworks....baked spuds..roast chestnuts..apples and oranges...happy days thats for sure...

only had 3 knocks on the door this year...far less than last year

Phil perhaps the kids are scared to knock on your door because of the screams and the coffins in the garden.

Two of them were me Astoness, I thinking of giving it up.

I've had an email from a computer parts supplier offering deals to celebrate Haloween. How desparate is that?

I think it must be the sight of the wife that frightens them when she answers to door, and she doesn't need to dress up to do it.

No I agree that I shouldn't have a go at her, especially as she was told today that she got to go in to hospital again for another operation. I've now got to see if there is some way I can wangle for it to be Solihull as she is not going in to Heartland even if I have to pay for the operation and that is against all my socialist principles.
