Good morning,
Clear skies and mild here at the moment.
I broke the screen of my fuji camera yesterday, don't know how,it's still usable, but no information avallable, so more or less useless, excuse to buy a new one for Christmas, the word LEICA comes to mind.
Good.morning John, Great camera the Leica, it was the first still camera to use 35mm film.
My mates dad had one in the 1960s. Brilliant lens too.

Yes Leica is the creme-de-creme, but so expensive, the one I'm looking at is 400 quid, small compact and the cheapest in the range, but cannot be beaten for build and lens quality.
I wish there was a British camera to rival Leica, Nikon, Canon etc.
But I doubt if we will ever see it.
Come to think of it is there a British camera.

Just been reading the reviews on the one I've got my eye on, and find out it's a re-badged Panasonic with exactly the same spec as the Leica
and I don't feel like paying £100 for a red dot, rethink coming up.
I remember the Coronet John I was more of a Reflex Brownie man then though.
I learned most of my early Photography on a Halina 35x as cheap as they came but a great little camera, it was second hand too.
Then I progressed on to Pentax and later Olympus.
In recent years I have been abusing a Nikon compact its falling apart but I just love it.

Re-think over I'm going to replace the screen myself, £29.95, took me 5 minutes to remove broken one, only 7 screws.

Screen ordered, paid for,£17.28 and £2.00 postage, how can they justify £85.00 in the shop for doing this.
John
I sold a Cannon with a load of kit, filters & lens's etc and an old Lecia that belonged to my wifes father when we started to go digital. I sold them for pennies on Ebay. If I had known you at the time I would have give them to you. I know they were both good cameras but I didn't see me using either of them again.

John
As I say I didn't know you then, the Cannon was my own that I paid a fortune for in the 70's and I added to it over the years. I had kit that I had never used and if I am honest I wouldn't have known how to. The only reason I sold both cameras was because I didn't want to throw them out because I knew someone could get some use out of them. I only got something silly like £40 each for them and the Cannon carry case was worth more than that.
