John
I assumed Phil would stay clear because there were 2 x 42 inch TV, probably showing football, not because he doubted your work.

John

I tell you what mate, I'd rather you put them up than me, I'm useless at DIY at least thats what I tell the wife. Now if you needed somebody to get them back down I would be your man. Its as Mike says I steer clear of pubs with TV's I like to chat when I go in to a pub. If I was daft enough to want to see a football match I could stay at home.

Mike and Phil, I'm with all the way on that, I hate tv's in a pub, ours is on only Saturday afternoon and you won't find me in there, even if the drink was free.

Look at this photo, the big chap at the dart board with his back to the camera was Hillary a Polish war refugee that got badly burned in a tank when it was hit by a shell. He lived in Sparkbrook and was known and liked by everyone. He was a gentle giant he doesn't look it but he was much bigger than he looked in the photo. Anyway we were in that pub by Bewdley waiting for midnight and the start of a the fishing season when he nearly started a riot and got us all kicked out of the pub. What did he do, he switched off the television while the regulars were watching something. It was the first of three pubs we were asked to leave that night.

I won't be around this evening, I'm off out on the razzle. One glass of wine if I'm lucky. You never know I might get lucky and someone might keep the wife talking while I have a sly couple of tots.

On the quiet, I think Phil was the wrong crowd that your mom warned you about.
