I think some dreadful winds have been forecast for today, getting worse the further north you go.
As for the Chelsea Flower Show, from what I read in the papers it is no longer a show for ordinary people, especially with tickets changing hands for £770 for the opening day. Even the concept gardens are getting out of hand as they think of even more preposterous themes. I understand they have one hanging from a crane this year. Just what the average man or woman wants in their back garden.
I agree Phil . If I lived in Leeds I would be furious at the City Council's entry, or indeed that they had made any entry. All very fine building a reproduction water mill with 10 ft waterwheel when you have plenty of money, but NOW? See http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leeds-13362374 Mike

I agree its a disgusting waste of public money, its fine if businesses want to waste their money sponsoring things like this, but I think that if councils want to spend their money on gardens they should do it nearer to home where the ratepayers can see it without spending a fortune to do so.
