Not been out yet but the wind was bad yesterday,I hate really windy days.

Just opened the blind and yes the strawberry plants on my windowsill are waving in the breeze.

Not great for May is it.Hope April was not our summer.

I think some dreadful winds have been forecast for today, getting worse the further north you go.

As for the Chelsea Flower Show, from what I read in the papers it is no longer a show for ordinary people, especially with tickets changing hands for £770 for the opening day. Even the concept gardens are getting out of hand as they think of even more preposterous themes. I understand they have one hanging from a crane this year. Just what the average man or woman wants in their back garden.

I agree Phil . If I lived in Leeds I would be furious at the City Council's entry, or indeed that they had made any entry. All very fine building a reproduction water mill with 10 ft waterwheel when you have plenty of money, but NOW?

Mike

I agree its a disgusting waste of public money, its fine if businesses want to waste their money sponsoring things like this, but I think that if councils want to spend their money on gardens they should do it nearer to home where the ratepayers can see it without spending a fortune to do so.
