I understand very little about football, so perhaps you can explain to me. If Wembley Stadium holds 90,000 and the two opposing teams are allocated 33,000 tickets each, what happens to the other 24,000?

Some of them will probably go free to whoever owns the stadium now. When British Electric Traction (or perhaps some firm who owned them) ran it many years ago a friend who worked for them was offered free tickets for the cup final and asked me if i wanted one. He wasn't interested , and neither was I. For some reason when i tell people this they act amazed !!

You couldn't pay me to go, why anybody in their right mind would want to spend a day being pushed, jostled and deafened by a half drunk mob watching a gang of overpaid so called sportsmen who's only interest in the fans is to make sure they keep paying the fortunes they are earning. Though I use the word earning in its loosest definition.

Just got in, had enough for today, so I packed up because I can.
Phil, my sentiments exactly, can't think of anything more boring, apart from cricket.
I can understand not liking football and finding it boring, but there is no point knocking it for the sake of it. the fans deserve a good day I think.

From the other point of view all we non football fans in Birmingham have heard or read about for weeks is football. When are the TV producers & newspaper publishers going to learn that football is hardly a world changing event and we don't need it pushing down our throats every five minutes.

Fair comment Phil, but in Blues case it's hardley an everyday occurrence. I am interested in world affairs for instance but some people must be sick to the back teeth of hearing about the Middle East.
