I have traced the problem with our forum access.
The central NTL domain name server was severely over stressed this afternoon by a new router installed by someone in Erdington.
it requested so many IP addresses that the servers of twelve counties failed to satisfy it's demands. The ISP nodes are just now clearing old traffic and allowing current connections to be maintained.
