Trouble is with wooden fencing posts. There are posts and posts. Although they usually come at the same price, some are heavy and last well, some are much lighter wood and have a very short life. You stand a better chance with concrete posts. As long as they are from a reputable company.

Exactly right mate, trouble is wood isn't usually seasoned for long enough these day if at all.

Before we put any wooden fencing up ,always give it a couple of coat's of a good preserertive but it don't seem to last any longer ,so I wonder if it's worth the extra expense.

evening all...talking about fencing posts..to stop them rotting we hammered metal fence post spikes into the ground then just slotted the posts into them...ours have been up for 12 years no problem...they are only about a fiver each...
