At one time I would never have wanted our Police armed. But considering the massive threat we are all under at present I have to agree with this. More Police than we know are armed anyway and Birmingham is a massive target.

maybe if this country spent more money on our national security instead of spending billions on stupid buidings we dont need then we would all feel a litlle safer walking the streets..the queen is in birmingham today as i did when she was here 3 years back i would have been up town to see her but even though i had made other plans for today before i knew of her visit i am sorry to say that i would not have been risking town today..

Trouble is that when the powers that be think national security the first immovable and uncancellisable (if that's a word) part are nuclear weapons, and other things take second place. If police cuts were first the removal of personal protection of government ministers then somehow I think money would be found

Being caught up in a terrorist attack would be horrific. It would be worse if armed Police were involved and there was a chance of being caught in the crossfire.
Even worse would be if only the attackers were armed. It's long been known that Birmingham is at the top of the terrorist threat. It would be an easier target than London which already has loads of protection.
