what a dull miserable city birmingham is fast becoming...all of our traditions slowly being taken away from us...pype hayes bonfire display axed...city centres christmas parade axed not to mention no help from the powers that be to retain our st georges day concert...i am slowly beginning to feel like an alien in my home town....its .disgraceful and there can be no excuses for denying us the right to practice our traditions
sorry jo to me there is no excuse..far to much money has been ploughed into buildings that are just not fit for purpose or left lying empty for years such as office blocks and student flats...its wasting tax payers money hand over fist and of course it will always be the public that will suffer...
It's the same everywhere lyn ,it's not there money they are wasting it's yours the tax payer , telford have built a new complex called south water square ,new resturants cinema etc , but its far to expensive for a lot of people to be able to use it.
agreed SB..i note that smaller places such as leicester are still having their fireworks display..considering we are suposed to be the 2nd city i would think we are more third class..

Yes Lyn, chances are they are funded by other sources (private money etc).
